New to the site and golf

Hi all,

My name is Mark or Markus either works. I just started playing regularly around 4 or 5 months ago. I usually am around the Ahwatukee area or in Maricopa at The Duke by where I live. Still learning all the ins and outs but feel like I have improved quite a bit since I started playing. my score doesn't always reflect it but keeping my drive in play is what I base it on right now
I look forward to getting some good info in the forums and hopefully giving some along the way too

Nice of your to join up. I am sure you can pick every members brain here for some info.

Hey golf I see in your sig that you have your clubs bent to different degrees. just wondering wouldn't it be easier to just buy those degrees instead?

Are you talking about the wedges or the I20's?

Well both really...I haven't heard of anyone doing that

I had my clubs bent so that I would have proper distance gaps throughout my entire bag.

The wedges use to fill the gaps to a much older set that I had for about 10 years or do. Instead of spending $75-$140 on a new wedges and getting rid of my old wedges which i liked(that's per wedge). 'I figured it would be cheaper to just have them bent to the Degrees that I needed to coincide with my new set.

I had my I20's bent because they are a Degree or two different throughout the entire I20 line. Example; the I20 Pitching Wedge is at a loft of 46 degree while a G20 Pitching Wedge is at a 45 Degree loft.

And, a lot of tour players bend there clubs to what they feel comfortable with playing.

Interesting... I haven't heard of that but makes perfect sense though. From what I have heard my clubs can't be adjusted (as far as the irons go) because they aren't forged just thought people had the lie adjusted not the loft

I had to do the same thing with my 7-9 irons to get the gaps to line up with my 3-6 irons.

I think it is only about $5 per club at Golfsmith. I would do it myself but I don't want to pay $300-$700 for a decent bending machine. Golfsmith is a good option for this service.

They can be adjusted. Just not as much as forged clubs. Cast clubs can usually be bent 2-3 degrees while forged clubs and be bent up to 4-5 degrees. Ping clubs are the exception to this rule. They must use something special in their steel that allows them to bend the clubs more than other cast clubs.

I think it's that little notch that is part of the iron that allows them to be able to manipulate there clubs so much

If you have PING irons they can be adjusted by the PING factory for free. gotta love PING! lol
