Years ago people made fun of golfers because of their lack of fitness, but with Tiger Woods’ rise in popularity came a new-found respect for golf fitness.

In the past there were some golfers who lifted weights and worked out to gain strength and muscle tone, but none of them were champions. Now, as Tiger shows that being in good shape can add to performance, ping g15 irons more and more players are doing this, including Adam Scott, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Lexi Thompson and even Phil Mickelson just to name a few.

Golfers now realize that being fit can add distance to their game and can also help them with the endurance necessary to play 18 holes of golf, remaining focused and without getting overly tired. While research shows that all the major muscle groups are involved with your golf swing, explosive functional power with stability is key. The proper combination of weight training, cardio, and flexibility should be used to get the body in top physical condition for golf.

Even though golfers have started to recognize the need to work out as well as practice their golf, there are many who still ignore this aspect of their training. If you do end up putting a golf workout plan in place you will notice a steady increase in drive distance, stamina, and better control around the greens. You will start beating your friends who are not in shape and they will wonder why you have suddenly improved.

Weight training is important for all muscle groups, ping i20 irons but especially the legs and core. This is where all of your swing strength comes from and strong legs mean more distance. A solid core can help with distance and balance, making it easier to hit the ball straight.
