Pull hooks Empty
PostSubject: Pull hooks   Pull hooks EmptySun May 26, 2013 8:58 pm

I was out a few weekends a ago and during my round I started to pull hook a couple of iron shots. I felt issue from the start of my downswing. It felt like I was higher in my swing plan and as I came down I could feel the overrotation of the iron.

Any ideas on what the simple drill would be

Pull Hooks are normally caused by an outside in club path through impact, with a closing club face. This is normally caused by either a casting motion in the downswing (early release) or an improper alignment/ setup position. Without seeing your setup position Id recommend using an alignment stick for a drill.

0:45-1:10 is a great example of how to use a stick for a drill aide that will help with the "pull hooks."

Hope this help! Let me know what kind of ball flight you get after you practice with this drill.

How is the hook coming along?  Have you had a chance to practice the drill yet?

Yes it has been helping. I haven't tried using a stick yet but I have thought about it.

Thank you
