| I had a client give me a sleeve of the new Callaway Hex Chrome golf balls so I thought I would give them a try. I usually only play Titliest Pro V1's or Bridgestone B330's, but I was curious about them and had thought about picking up a box.
With the new "Hex" design, Callaway claims it would give you extra yardage in their commercials. I personally did not see any yardage gains. I did not notice anything special with The Hex ball off my driver. Nor did I notice a difference through most of my irons. I did start seeing issues when I was inside 100 yards and around the greens.
I have spent many hours practicing my short game, and I pride myself on the progress I have made. I did notice with the Callaway Hex golf ball that for some reason it was a lot harder for me to get this ball to check/sit. I felt I really had to come down on the ball so than I usually would to get the same result.
I can not say whether I would recommend this ball to anyone or not. I will try to pick up another sleeve and try these at another course just to give them a chance.

| I bought a box of them and to be honest I didnt notice anything special. but then again I'm not the greatest of golfers. I was using my girlfriends pink ball one time and well I did notice a HUGE difference in distance lol Whenever I go to PGA store or golfsmith I usually pick up a dozen balls to try something different. | |

Yes, I thinks so and the pros are super picky about what ball they play. There are different types of ball from a basic 2 piece made for distance to a 5-piece ball for better control and feel. The best way to test balls is start with it by the green and work your way out to the T's I like 3 different balls from 3 different companies. I like the Callaway i(x) because I can get that to sit on a dime on the greens. I like Bridgestone B330's because of how they feel off of all the clubs in my bag and Pro V1x feel great around a green. I don't like the Taylormade Penta/Lethal because I feel I get to much side spin from my driver with it. And it gets a little out of control because of that. Try some 3 piece balls like Titliest NXT's or look into the Bridgestone e6. These are pretty good. And the price isn't to bad on a box.

There are a lot of multi-layer balls out there that are a decent price
