GOLF - Winter Golf Pricing Empty
PostSubject: Winter Golf Pricing   GOLF - Winter Golf Pricing EmptySat Jan 26, 2013 11:58 am

I do appreciate the revenue the snow birds bring to the valley, but man do they drive the prices up on the golf courses. You would think they could have some kind of program in place for some of the permanent residents they play all summer long. I would really like to play on some of the nicer courses in town with out having to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house.

I agree with ya there...I have been seeing a course or 2 on golfnow that offers a resident price but it wasn't extremely lower than the other pricing

The Raven is a must play in the summer. Right now it is a little pricey but it is a great course.

But still trying to find a time on a Tuesday Morning is a joke right now.

golfnow has AZ Biltmore: Links for $65.00 and a Non-Resident charge of $185.00...very nice discount for residents.

Winter prices are horrible here. I've played the raven in the summer and they take very very nice care of that course. I also play alot out at Superstition Springs in the summer, AWESOME prices and incentives to play there. TPC has some great summer deals also. I understand the price increase but to triple the prices of greens fees is a killer. I'm lucky to golf once or twice in the winter and if I do its a crap course.

Ya totally. When some courses are $200 in the winter then you can grab a round for $60-$80 in the summer. There is something wrong with that picture.

I was at ocitillo for a beer the other night and was talking to a guy that works there and he told me the winter prices and I about spit my beer everywhere, he said in the winter its $175 for 18 holes. in the summer I've played there for $40.

I really dont think its the snow birds that drive up the prices, I think its the much much cooler weather that drives it up.

I think a Lot of it goes in the direction of the snow birds. They come here because of the cooler weather AND pay the will pay whatever the bill is for the course they want to play.

There could be alot of different variables that drive the price up.
